Feel sorry for the previous reviewer -though, read ending. My favorite place for a good, inexpensive, fast meal. Got their special, Menu Classique 6.7 euros, which came with a hot quiche, bottle of Evian water, and a dessert of the day that translated to any dessert in the case since they made it that day! It's not gourmet but the desserts are definitely something I'd pay an arm and a leg for in SF! The French like to eat late -for every meal. Here late afternoon and tons of french speaking locals. Because of the other review, just ordered a cappuccino to see how it is...yup, not good. Probably didn't help that the beans were ground earlier and just sitting out. Watched her scoop the pre-ground coffee and was worried but didn't think it could be this bad, slightly bland with a burnt aftertaste. :/ For that, I'm knocking off a star!

This is a very fast way to get a coffee and pastry. The pain du chocolat is delicious.

But our coffee was lukewarm. Barely warm. Weird.

Everywhere we went in Spain there was great coffee.  Now that we are in France we get crap coffee at one of their chain joints.  Lots of people here early in the morning.  None of the customers are speaking French - bad sign.  They are German and Brit - what do they know about coffee?

We left this place and went one block over to the McDonald's.  It did not disappoint us and it had free Wifi that did not require advanced programming experience in cypher technology just to load the password.  The French make it tough to like them.

    AVOID
